Beit She’arim

Beit She’arim National Park is found east of Haifa. It was home once to a great rabbi – Rabbi Yehuda HaNasi – who was the religious, spiritual and political leader of the Jewish people at the time. The site is also known for the remains of a Roman city, which can be seen to this day. More than 20 burial grounds or catacombs have been uncovered in this National Park. The park consists of various caves in which one can see stone coffins with beautiful intricate designs. The park is best visited in the spring time as the area is full of beautiful flowers. There are plently of places to picnic in this National Park,
