The Vanishing Lake, (האגם הנעלם), is found in Timna on the way to Eilat. The lake sits in an old copper mine and was created when ground water overflowed while rock cuttings were made at the site. The views of the blue lake against the red stone in which it sits, are magnificent. One can walk down to the lake, and some people even swim in it. Whether this is allowed or advisable is not known. It is about a 15min walk down to the lake from the car park.
