Many of you have probably never heard of the Afeka Caves, ancient burial caves surrounded by a spectacular expanse of greenery. All this is situated in Ramat Aviv, very close to Tel Aviv in the middle of a residential area. The caves are interesting, but what is more enticing, is the nature reserve surrounding them. This reserve is best visited on a clear winters day and especially in the months of February and March when the flowers are in bloom. The nature reserve is not huge, but it is definitely big enough to avoid crowds and find a lovely spot for a picnic. There are a variety of paths within the reserve, and one can probably do a circle around the reserve in about an hour and a half .
