Castel National Park is a memorial to one of the key battles fought in the War of Independence. Here Arabs and Jews fought for control of the site, which overlooked the main Tel Aviv-Jerusalem highway. Castel exchanged hands several times in the course of the fighting and many lives were claimed. The national park includes a memorial for the Israeli soldiers who died there, 2 videos about the history of the site and communication trenches which are interesting to explore. Another highlight of this site are 3 group activity and team building stations where one must work together to solve problems.
Very close to Castel National Park is a wonderful playground for kids with a great picnic area (see pictures below). The National Park needs advanced booking
