Derech Habasor is a gorgeous route, suitable only in winter, as there is very little shade in this part of the desert. One can walk this route, but it is 18 kilometers, and best done by car. There are various points to stop along the route (including rolling hills to climb, a hanging bridge to cross and a river to swim in, if you can find it!) . The festival of Drom Adom (the Red South) takes place in February and March in this area. During themonths of Drom Adom, the desert is in full bloom and rows after rows of red poppies can be seen. This is the best time of the year to visit this area.
