Ein Afek is a national park found near to Akko and is one of the most picturesque national parks in the area. Ein Afek consists of a dam and a swamp filled with colorful vegitation, and a wonderful floating wooden bridge running over the water source. An ancient flour mill allows you to see gorgeous views of the Akko valley from its roof. The reserve is filled with aquatic and animal life. Many species of birds can be spotted here so bring your binoculars. Catfish are in abundance here and many have spotted tortoises in the area.
There are various routes one can do in Ein Afek reserve of between 1-2 kilometers. Most of them are not shaded and therefore less suitable in the hot summer months. Ein Afek is suitable for wheelchairs and strollers. This national park needs advanced booking.
