Horvat Beit Atiav (חורבת בית עתיאב), located in Nes Harim close to Jerusalem, is a wonderful walk which combines beautiful green scenery and interesting caves. If you are lucky enough to do this route in the month of February, there is an extra bonus of viewing Almond Trees in full bloom.
This 4.5 km walk is circular and is a perfect one for families or adults wanting a nice easy stroll. It is not a shaded walk and mostly exposed, so its better to go on a cloudy day or one which is not too warm. At the beginning of the hike there is a nice place with benches to have a picnic. The walk can get a bit muddy if it has rained a few days previously.
