Maayan Harod is a national park that allows both day visits and over night camping The grounds have lots of grassy areas, some great wading pools (mid calf high for adults), a nice playground and a kiosk for snacks. A beautiful view of the Gilboa can be seen by taking a short stroll from the end of the pools to the top of a hill. This site is particularly good for young kids as the water is not deep.
