West of the Dead Sea, near Massada and the Qumram Caves, you’ll find Ein Gedi, a beautiful oasis and nature reserve. If waterfalls are your thing you will love this national park. Nahal David is an easy stroll and therefore suitable for the whole family. There are stairs to get to the different sized waterfalls, so the route is not stroller friendly. Some waterfalls and pools you are allowed to enter the water, and some prohibit entry but are still beautiful for photographing.
The short route is circular and about 1-1.5km long. There is an option of making the route longer and ascending a further 15min to another beautiful waterfall .
The best time of year to visit Ein Gedi is September to May as in the summer months this area gets very hot. Nahal David is not very shaded, so bring hats and sunscreen. And dont forget bathing costumes! This national park needs advanced booking. To book click here
