Nahal Taninim is situated near Caesaria, not far from the center of the country. It is a small National Park with a wonderful short circular walk (around1-1.5km) which is also stroller friendly. The walk can be made longer with an option of ending at the sea. The longer route is not stroller friendly, nor circular. The stream in the reserve was named Taninim – Hebrew for crocodiles – because these reptiles inhabited the nearby swamps until the beginning of the 20th century.
The best time to visit Nahal Taninim is in the winter as there is very little shade in this park. Nahal Taninim does have water but it gets dried up towards the summer months. It is not so much a place to swim but rather a beautiful walk enjoying the surroundings.
