Canoeing along the Jordan river is a great activity for families. One can rent canoes at a wonderful place, called Rob Roy, an Indian style village, right on the river. This activity is suitable for children age 2 and up and great fun for adults as well.
Canoes cost 220nis for a family of 4 (as of Aug 2021). The canoe ride lasts about 1.5 hours. Life jackets are given to all participants and one can stop along the river, jump in and enjoy the cool clear green waters of the Jordan River. Rob Roy offers other activities for kids. After the ride, Rob Roy offers you a taste of sweet tea or coffee (on the house). There is also a small kiosk with cold drinks and ice cream for sale. On festivals and occassional school holidays, there is a pizza stand with homemade pizzas.
