The Stalactite Cave also known as מערת הנטיפים in Hebrew is the largest and most beautiful Stalictite Cave in Israel. It is found near Beit Shemesh, not far away from Jerusalem. The cave is 83 m long, 60 m wide, and 15 m high. Some of the stalactites found in the cave are four meters long, and some have been dated back as much as 300,000 years.
At the front of the cave there is an observation area providing an overall view of the cave. The cave is full of stalagmites and stalictites! As you walk along, the raised walking platform (with stairs), gives a panoramic view of the stalagmites and stalactites. The cave is flooded with artifical lighting which helps illuminate parts of the cave.
